The Irony Of Commitment

DON’T Commit  to anything–EVER.

I mean seriously, what’s the point, right?

Ever use this: “Oh I won’t get too excited because if it doesn’t happen or if I don’t pass, I won’t be that disappointed.”

Can you see the underlining of self-sabotage and setting oneself up with the building of the wall-of-resistance happening?

Subtle.

Quiet.

Stealth.

It creeps in and without our even knowing it, we have become like a pond, stagnate, unmoving, unchanging, not seeing or even wanting to move in the direction of change for the better- -and the inability to commitment is in full force.

And this is how many will operate, under the umbrella of, “I don’t want to commit,” until there’s a problem.

No commitment means the deliberate disallowance of what you want.

It’s like you’re saying “I want this just as long as I don’t have to put any emotional commitment into it cause if I do and fail then I’ll have to go through all the guilt and beating myself up and who wants that, but please God answer my prayers because you said you would and I don’t need to exercise one thing nor do I have to act on my faith, so hurry up and answer my prayers (AREN’T YOU LISTENING!?!?!), and thanks so much, you’re a peach.”

Hmmmm…

What if that and all the other barriers were removed? What do you think would happen?

THINGS would happen….GREAT things!!

The Irony Of Commitment

“The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating – in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life.”

~ Anne Morriss

This is a great way to exercise the greatest gift you have as a human, your ability to choose what can serve you and make a commitment – -to YOU: http://absolute-fitness-results.com/boot-camp-wtrainer-annette.html

The focus is everything, and making a deliberate commitment solidifies ones choice.

Awesome.

NO FRIGGIN WAY ANYBODY IS GOING TO RUIN MY VACATION FOR NEXT YEAR. I AM PLANNING IT, THE HAWAII TRIP IS GOING TO HAPPEN EVEN IF I HAVE TO GO BY MYSELF I DON’T CARE. I DESERVE IT, I WORK HARD FOR IT AND I AM PUTTING AWAY MONEY EVERY MONTH FOR MY TRIP- –IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN AND ANYBODY TRIES TO MESS WITH IT, THEY WILL FEEL MY BOOT UP THEIR A$$. I AM GOING.”

Wow can you feel the commitment on that one??

Often it is so much easier to commit to a trip or event than ourselves, yes?

The encouragement here is to find a commitment to yourself—and have as much passion for you as you would for a trip. Remember, a trip is temporary, but you have to live with you. And when you commit to the Y-O-U, the vacations will be full of a different energy and passion, less the “force” of the statement above, and when you return home, your commitment to you continues in an effervescent way. (Yes, bubbly!)
