Let’s play a game (part 2)

Let’s play a game part 2

Today’s game is called, “What is the benefit of the benefit,” and I’m making it clear right now, this one is kind of long, but entertaining, as I have heard all of this in my daily trainings!

Let’s go with beer. (Now honestly I’m not much of a beer girl simply because it makes me full, I can’t drink that much of it, ((because of the full)), and the taste, meh. It’s just not my first choice). But let’s go back to it, beer.

What’s the benefit of it?

  • Tastes great, ice cold on a hot day. Can’t beat the first sip.
  • Removes inhibitions from the person enjoying it.
  • Creates another niche for the connoisseur
  • Enables freedom and removes shyness, and makes you numb on the nose.  😉
  • Great to sit and chill with
  • Courage in a bottle

Other benefits

  • Makes one fat in the gut
  • Makes one forget
  • Makes one wake up next to….”who are you???”
  • Invites DUI’s
  • Creates new babies
  • Creates overnight stays in the clink
  • Creates self-loathing
  • Creates a life of excuses
  • Creates a false dependency on it
  • Creates an annual spending equal to that of a new vehicle, without the vehicle

Okay so here’s the game again, “What’s the benefit of the benefit?”

  • Makes one fat in the gut. BENEFIT– –a good spot to use as a table for the beer
  • Makes one forget. BENEFIT– –seriously, do you want to remember you acting like a puking, naked fool?
  • Makes one wake up next to….”who are you???” BENEFIT– – All the easier to walk away, right?
  • Invites DUI’s. BENEFIT– –I’m sure you got an extra few 1,000 lying around for restitution and AA
  • Creates new babies. BENEFIT– -Sure why not? Get chained to a lifetime responsibility, over and over again. Sweet!
  • Creates overnight stays in the clink. BENEFIT– –at least it was on the taxpayers’ and not me!
  • Creates self-loathing. BENEFIT– –get to stay home all day in the dark, hell stay inside for 6 months in a tortuous, monotony of blame, guilt and shame. (Totally diggin this benefit)
  • Creates a life of excuses. BENEFIT– –no need to change because the excuses shadow any inclination of difference.
  • Creates an annual spending equal to that of a new vehicle, without the vehicle. BENEFIT– –Hmmm….exercise due to walking everywhere because your money for the bus goes to beer?

Let’s play just a little more….

  • Makes one fat in the gut. BENEFIT– –a good spot to use as a table for the beer
    • BENEFIT OF THAT BENEFIT- –That gorgeous stack of pancakes is just gonna get bigger for more beer stacking and although the talk of the party, you secretly feel like crap on the inside.
  • Makes one forget. BENEFIT– –seriously, do you want to remember you acting like a puking, naked fool?
    • BENEFIT OF THAT BENEFIT- –no need to take responsibility for what you don’t remember, right? That’s gotta make you feel accomplished when you show up on youtube, posted by your “friends.”
  • Makes one wake up next to….”who are you???” BENEFIT– – All the easier to walk away, right?
    • BENEFIT OF THAT BENEFIT- –walk away continually! I’m sure it feels awesome to know your actions promote personal integrity you want to write home about you’re so proud of yourself.
  • Invites DUI’s. BENEFIT– –I’m sure you got an extra few 1,000 lying around for restitution and AA
    • BENEFIT OF THAT BENEFIT- –Eh, a few more and you’ll be the pride of your family and the neighborhood and most importantly, you.
  • Creates new babies. BENEFIT– -Sure why not? Get chained to a lifetime responsibility, over and over again. Sweet!
    • BENEFIT OF THAT BENEFIT- –You’ll be missing your own life for the lives of the children created irresponsibly, or you’ll give them up and live with the guilt, OR you’ll pawn the responsibility off to the grandparents.
  • Creates overnight stays in the clink. BENEFIT– –at least it was on the taxpayers’ and not me!
    • BENEFIT OF THAT BENEFIT- –everybody including yourself loves an irresponsible person in their crowd!
  • Creates self-loathing. BENEFIT– –get to stay home all day in the dark, hell stay inside for 6 months in a tortuous, monotony of blame, guilt and shame. (Totally diggin this benefit)
    • BENEFIT OF THAT BENEFIT- –well you get to make everybody who cares about you worry about you and YOU get to fight the demons cause….that’s fun.
  • Creates a life of excuses. BENEFIT– –no need to change because the excuses shadow any inclination of difference.
    • BENEFIT OF THAT BENEFIT- –well no taking ownership means no responsibility, right? No change means no decision-making, and no decision-making means you’re one of the most dependable people on the planet!
  • Creates an annual spending equal to that of a new vehicle, without the vehicle. BENEFIT– –Hmmm….exercise due to walking everywhere because your money for the bus goes to beer?
    • BENEFIT OF THAT BENEFIT- –daily on your walks you get to replay over and over again, “I should have stopped drinking sooner, I should have stopped drinking sooner. But that stupid cop is NEVER on that corner, it’s their fault!”

Sure we could play forever but the point is, take your excuses and play the “What’s the benefit of the benefit” game.

What you’ll find is a bunch of garbage, lack of discipline, lack of ownership and responsibility and self-respect, and the blame game.

And you deserve SO much better than that.

Q. What’s the benefit of not coming to training in the morning after you made a commitment to yourself to do so?

A. Get to sleep in

Q. What’s the benefit of getting to sleep in?

A. Wake up a little refreshed and a little guilty

Q. What’s the benefit of waking up refreshed and a little guilty?

A. Maybe the next time you go to train you’re hoping I don’t say anything and I just might not see you. (Yes, this continues to be shared with me)

Q. What’s the benefit of maybe the next time you come to train you’re hoping I don’t say anything and I just might not see you?

A. You live with guilt for the day and repeat the pattern of going to bed too late claiming you just didn’t turn off the TV or get off Facebook.

Q. What’s the benefit of you living with guilt for the day and repeat the pattern of going to bed too late claiming you just didn’t turn off the TV or get off Facebook?

A. You can sleep in the next day too, forgetting the point of your commitment in the first place and then you quit.

Q. What’s the benefit of you can sleep in the next day too, forgetting the point of your commitment in the first place and then you quit?

A. Once again there you are, complaining in a pile of shame and guilt about how you feel and that once again, you failed.

Quit it already. Find the benefit of the benefit that serves what you really want.

May 2nd is the day, 5am is the time.

P.S. 5am is not “too early” to get the best you possible. You’d get up at 3am to go on a river trip wouldn’t you? Knew it. Click here for difference: I’m changing my game now–because I can.
