No matter what happens, I do not want to be scared anymore

What is the thing about fear?

It can be as crippling as one allows it to seem, right? Allows it to S-E-E-M.

One of my biggest fears was running- -operative word- -“was.” Now, after training and running my first half marathon, (in 2010), I am no longer afraid to run. No, it’s not my favorite thing to do and frankly, it’s not necessary for weight loss (no it’s not), and the most important thing is….I’m not afraid of it anymore.

What I was afraid of were the same things I hear others say about the “scary” things:

1.      I won’t be able to keep up.

2.      Everybody is going to be staring at me

3.      I’m never going to finish

4.      It’s too far

5.      It’s going to hurt

6.      I don’t have time

7.      What if I finish last?

Etc., etc., etc.

How many times have I heard the same thing about people talking about training with me, “Oh no I could never train with Annette, she’s too hard, I’ll never be able to keep up, she’s mean.”

Ahem.

This is how we do it: 4 Days of Excellence

And then what happens? Those speaking from fear actually come and participate in training with me and realize that all that needs to be applied are these simple things:

1.      You only do what you can

2.      You only do what you want

3.      The only person yelling at “you” is you. It’s the screaming voice inside of you that’s telling you that you aren’t good enough.

AND THEN YOU LEARN HOW TO SQUASH IT FOREVER

4.      You take breaks when you need to

5.      You are in complete control

But you won’t know this to be true unless/until you junk the fear. After all what “is” fear? It’s:

F alse

E vidence

A ppearing

R eal

Simply, it’s what you feed it. If you think it’s scary….its gonna be scary, because you said so! Or….

You could pet the pretty kitty over a drink.  🙂

The title to this post came from the Karate Kid (2010), “No matter what happens, I do not want to be scared anymore.”

So, stop being scared already.

My trainings are small in size on purpose.

We build relationships, not just another come-and-sweat-see-you-tomorrow fest.

And you will be embraced, just as you are, because we’re all in it together.

Say it: “No matter what happens, I do not want to be scared anymore.”

Now DO something about it and smash it: 4 Days of Excellence

In exquisite, deliberate care from you to you,

Annette
