What I told my cycle class last night

What I told my cycle class last night.

Weight loss—the biggest desire that seems like such a tough thing to achieve for many and why? Excuses. The bottom line: we can do anything we commit to and find important enough, right? Let’s have a look at the yearly cycle, and we’ll start with right now, October:

  • October– -“Welp, missed the Labor Day weight loss idea in September but, that’s okay, it’s October, now I can lose weight for my Halloween costume.”
  • November– -“Oh poo, October came and left, that’s okay, I can now think about losing weight before Thanksgiving!”
  • December– -Aww CRAP I missed my idea for Thanksgiving weight loss but, that’s okay, now I can think about January, (eh but screw it, who the hell cares about weight loss and health in December??), I’m gonna live it up, eat whatever I want, drink everything I want, it’s the end-of-the-year celebration and ….I deserve it!

  • January– – 15 pounds later, (the pounds you deserved of course), and “What the HELL was I thinking?!? Oh well, that’s okay, I’m going to go to the gym seven days a week and especially now because I got that gym membership for Christmas!”
  • February– -Man what happened to January, I meant to work out and change my eating habits for the New Year, (sigh), that’s okay, now I can get ready and lose a few pounds for Valentine’s Day! Plus, I’m sure the gyms are super-crowded with all the New Year’s Resolutionists and all. March, here I come!
  • March– -GAWD I wish I could just get my butt in gear and do something already I cannot believe I missed February, that’s probably why I didn’t have a date for Valentine’s Day. Oh that’s okay, I’ll get it in gear for St. Patrick’s Day and Spring Break!
  • April– -Pssssh, trash March, (whatever), but that’s okay, I got April Fool’s Day, Autism awareness month, Find a Rainbow Day, Passover, Easter, National Eggs Benedict Day, National Upside-down Pineapple Cake Day, Pigs in a Blanket Day and Zipper Day ALL in April!! NOW I can lose some weight. (Thank God!)
  • May– -Oh BOY summer is almost here- I better get on this losing weight thing. That’s okay, I’ll think more about it after Cinco de Mayo tacos and tequila, and as soon as the kids are out of school.

  • June– -Yeah, missed that weight loss thing again, eh, that’s okay, we’re on vacation now and you know what…I’M ON VACATION, I DESERVE TO LET LOOSE AND ENJOY all the eating out, it’s stress relief. Maybe July.
  • July– -Just…..nevermind. That’s okay, August is gonna be a little slower-paced, then I’ll think more about losing weight. I mean, the 4th is just around the corner and well, the block party and all.
  • August– -Okay okay, at the end of this month I promise myself to get on some kind of better eating schedule. But only at the end of the month because, it’s the last month of summer, I need to enjoy it. That’s okay, I’ll get better.
  • September– -I swear this is the month, but that’s okay, I better wait till the kids are back in school anyway, then I won’t be so busy, and we gotta get through Labor Day, then I’ll be ready to lose some weight.

Ahem, it’s been a year, and now you’re wondering “how” you gained the 15 pounds from the year before, and how you added the bonus, insulating 15 pounds  this year. Really? Not to mention the emotional stress that now causes you to give up and eat to soothe the pain, causing more pain, more daily and monthly excuses, beating yourself up and worthlessness.

You can definitely find solace in the same behavior annually, OR you can choose the solution staring you right in the face, it’s called the USANA RESET Challenge.

It’s a 5-day high fiber, low-glycemic cleanse that will not send you running, butt all tucked under, ass-cheeks a-squeezin’, praying you make it to the bathroom either. It’s a natural way to get your body off the sugar roller coaster, enabling wellness of mind, body and spirit through 1500 calories a day of goodness, that will curb your cravings for the foods that cause depression, lethargy and an overage of acid reflux, diabetes, high blood pressure and the cost of meds upon meds upon meds upon other meds, to experience an abundant life full of energy, that results in belly fat loss and emotional stress loss.

Pretty cool huh?
